I'm applying for a couple of summer research positions, and I was confronted with this question--should I put my blog address on my CV?
Of course, we have heard about the "challenges" of blogging and how it relates to one's job. Washingtonienne.com is perhaps the most famous but also an extreme that might not help most people who aren't having relations with those who work in the government.
I decided to put my blog address on my CV. For a few reasons:
1) They'll probably find out eventually, and if they have a problem with it, I'd rather deal with it now rather than later.
2) I don't think it is worthwhile trying to hide one's opinions. I recognize that there is a level of professionalism in the working environment with when and how one presents his or her view, but I don't think anyone can be expected to have opinions perfectly in line with one's employer.
3) Although arguable, I think blogs can be as good for employers or better than the potential hazards they pose. In applying for a job, if they read the blog they can get an idea of "how I think" as well as how I communicate (at least, a particular form of communication).
Anyway, the blog address is on the CV.
Thoughts?

I agree... I have mine on my CV too. The only person that I know that has been fired for things on there blog is Dooce.com
By putting your blog on your CV you are INVITING them to read it. You better be damn brilliant on it.
If your blog is work-related, fine. If not, I sure as heck wouldn't. Let them do the leg work if they want to figure out what I'm saying about them. ;)
